Barry K. Baines, MD
Barry has 10 years experience as a hospice medical director and is board-certified in both family practice and hospice and palliative medicine. He is a leading authority on the use of ethical wills in palliative care and other settings. He has presented regionally and nationally on the value of ethical wills as a legacy creation tool. Barry also serves on the faculty of the National Institute for Estate Planners. He has developed several self-help print and software resources for creating an ethical will. His new book, Ethical Wills: Putting Your Values on Paper, was recently published by Perseus.

Douglas M. Baker, Sr. - Teacher, Author, Executive Coach, and Volunteer.
Doug is an Executive Fellow at the Graduate School of Business, University of St. Thomas (St. Paul). He has also taught at the University of Minnesota, Gustavus Adolphus College and Normandale Community College in addition to being a moderator of "great books" seminars. Doug has held senior executive positions with American Express and Litton Industries. His extensive community services includes building houses, preparing and serving meals and serving on the boards of spiritual, educational, charitable and arts organizations. He and his wife, Carole, believe their most important legacy is their family of three grown children, three in-laws and ten grandchildren.


Rachael A. Freed &mdash LICSW, LMFT, Board Certified Diplomate in Clinical Social Work
Rachael is a pioneer in the field of family-centered care involving life-threatening or chronic illness. She is the creator of HeartmatesВ resources and services for spouses and families of heart patients. She is a professional educator, trainer, seminar leader, and inspirational speaker. Her published works include Heartmates: A Guide for the Spouse and Family of the Heart Patient, The Heartmates Meditation Journal: A Companion for Partners of People with Serious Illness, and numerous articles. Her book, Women's Lives ... Women's Legacies: Passing Your Beliefs and Blessings to Future Generations: How To Create Your Spiritual - Ethical Will, will be published in the winter of 2003. She is a co-founder of The Legacy Center. She has five grand-children.

Bev Lutz - MCC, MBA, CPCC
Bev is an ICF Master Certified Coach and organizational consultant. Her work ranges from coaching alliances and keynote speeches to planning and managing large-scale organizational change efforts for clients like Honeywell International, Ontrack Data International, Wells Fargo, and Northern States Power. Bev's special interest is in the power of legacy in our work lives. She sees our work stories as powerful chapters in our life stories. What positive power might we unleash as we reflect on our work legacies and begin to understand our individual impact in the world of our work? What would happen if we became intentional about our work legacies?

Daniel Taylor, Ph.D.
Daniel is a professor of literature and writing at Bethel College, St. Paul. He speaks internationally on issues related to story, values, character, faith, and contemporary culture. Among his books are Tell Me a Story: The Life-Shaping Power of Our Stories, and Letters to My Children: A Father Passes on His Values. He is Contributing Editor of Books and Culture and General Editor of Vital Questions, a book series published by Tyndale House Press.

Mary O'Brien Tyrrell - MPH, BSN
During the last ten years Mary O'Brien Tyrrell has been president and owner of Memoirs, Inc and has published life stories for more than 200 ordinary-extraordinary elders. She also has twenty-five years experience in gerontology, has written scientific articles in professional health care journals, and has published poetry in books and magazines. Her most recent publication Memoirist to Extraordinary, Yet Ordinary Elders was published in Aging, the Journal of the American Society on Aging. Winter, 2003. Her poem, "Savings Lives," is on permanent display in the Smithsonian National Museum of American History. She has been a consultant to the International Institute for Reminiscence and Life Review for production of a video The Joys and Surprises of Telling Your Life Story.
